Scientists have found dose of pain

Rinat Neurosciences American company has developed a new anesthetic. The drug, code-named RI 624 contains monoclonal antibodies against - substances that are involved in transmitting nerve, including the pain impulses. According to the preclinical trials, the drug is well tolerated, has effectively against both the acute and chronic pain, it is addictive and disorders of consciousness.

Initially, the developers aim to get a new analgesic tool for patients with rheumatoid arthritis. However, for obvious reasons, was interested in the development of U.S. military research agency perspective (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, DARPA). Of particular interest to DARPA is the fact that, from experimental data, members of the RI 624 antibodies have sufficiently long stability - for about a week after injection. This could mean that the "pain vaccine" can be made to soldiers before the start of combat operations.

Independent experts recognize the high value of this development. In doing so, they stress that in case of successful clinical trials of the drug, the main field of application will not only military medicine, but the treatment of postoperative pain syndrome and chronic inflammatory diseases like rheumatoid arthritis.
