The study examined the relationship between the detection of human infections and various factors. Such as: the presence of foreskin, race, sexual behavior, age. As a result of the work it was found that men who received the procedure for removal of foreskin, HPV is found on average 70 percent less.
The study included 998 men from the United States, Mexico and Brazil at the age of 18 to 70 years, each of which was discovered at least one form of HPV, and a control group of 403 healthy men. Human papillomavirus results to changes in the growth of tissues, causing the appearance of warts, and is transmitted through sexual intercourse.
Young people aged 18 to 24 years, the virus is detected in one and a half times more likely than men older than 45. Scientists have noted that similar data were obtained from studies carried out previously in Spain, Denmark, Ecuador, Thailand and the Philippines. In addition, a study in Spain showed that women whose partners were circumcised, the risk of cervical cancer, on average, lower by 42 per cent.
